Viola McAlister Bentz, 91, of Chattanooga, passed away on Monday, Feb. 24, 2014. She was born to the late Grover and Willie May McAlister, on April 16, 1922. Viola was a devoted wife and mother and grandmother. She was the office manager for Town & Country Restaurant for 36 years. Viola was preceded in death by her husband, John David Bentz; son, Raymond Wayne Billingsley; sisters, Anna Belle Smith, Clara Mae McKenzie and Rosa Lee O'Dell. Viola is survived by her daughter, Rita (Dr. John) Webber; and four grandchildren, Mark (Shelly) Webber, Jeffrey (Melissa) Webber, all from Knoxville, and Nikki (Andy) Wood, of Tampa, Fla., and Chad (Holly) Billingsley, of Marietta, Ga.; and a special friend Al Reaves. Visitation will be held for Viola at 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
