Bob Gaunt

Robert "Bob" E. Gaunt, 75, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2014. Bob lived in Hixson, with his family from 1972 to 1984. Bob was born on Aug. 31, 1938 in Dayton, Ohio to Eugene and Anna Gaunt. Bob attended Ohio University where he played on the Bobcats basketball and baseball teams. After serving two years in the U. S. Air Force Reserves, Bob began his career with 3M. Bob loved working for 3M for 39 years where he retired as an account executive. Bob was a devoted member of Trinity Lutheran Church while living in Hixson. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Elaine Herronen Gaunt. Bob is survived by his wife, Betsy Wigington, Nashville; and sister, Barbara Gaunt, Hot Springs, Ark. Bob was the proud father of Sherry Gaunt Gentry (Bill) of Marietta, Ga., Steve Gaunt (Laura) of Franklin, Tenn., and Matthew Gaunt (Jill) of Frisco, Texas. He loved his six grandchildren, Will and Elizabeth Gentry, Evan Gaunt, Luke, Nicholas and Ellie Gaunt.
