Oberia Westfield

Oberia "MaMa Bea" Westfield, 84, passed away on Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at a local hospital. She was last employed at Brainerd Cleaners. Ms. Oberia was of the Baptist faith and served on the Usher Ministry #1. She loved babysitting children, she was never blessed with any of her own. Her hobbies include sewing and baking. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Annie Gay; mother, Vivian Watson; father, Raymond Westfield; other family, James Knight, Allen Williams Jr., Dorothy Jean Jones, Charles Roseberry Sr. and Clinton Roseberry. Survivors include her caregiver/cousin, Yolanda (Craig) Putman; Afonda (Oscar) Kilby, Alice Jones, Veronica (Lee) Jones, Pamella Dave, Alex Dave, Cleopatra Houston, Mary (David) Morris, Nellie Jones Davis; a host of other cousins and relatives and a dear godson, Deion Brooks. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Feb. 28, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Greater Faith Temple Missionary Baptist Church, located at 652 East 10th Street with Dr. Nathaniel Carter officiating. Interment in Highland Memorial Gardens. The body will lie in state after noon today at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue 622-9995.
