Tommie Stevens Jr.

Tommie Lee Stevens Jr., 90, passed away on Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, at his home. He was born Jan. 12, 1924 in Anderson, Tenn.; the son of the late Tommy Lee Sr. and Laura Pack Stevens. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was a Veteran of World War II. He attended Huntland Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Stevens was preceded in death by son, Jackie Stevens; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and siblings, Flossie Pearson, Robert Stevens, Oscar Stevens, Woodrow Stevens, Helen Stevens and Luke Stevens. Surviving are wife, Bertha (George) Stevens; sons, Leon (Carolyn) Stevens, of Sherwood, Tenn., Lonnie (Sandria) Stevens, of Manchester, Tenn., Johnnie (Sandy) Stevens, of Sherwood, Tenn., and Jimmy (Bea) Stevens, of Stevenson, Ala.; daughters, Susie (Billy Jack) Johnson, of Stevenson, Ala., and Janice Lappin, of Stevenson; 12 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; and 12 stepgreat-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. today, Feb. 27, 2014 in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with the Bro.ther Bruce Shockley, Brother Willy Watts and Johnny Stevens officiating.
