Viola Bentz

Viola McAlister Bentz, 91, of Chattanooga, passed away on Monday, Feb. 24, 2014. She was born to the late Grover and Willie May McAlister, on April 16, 1922. Viola was a devoted wife and mother and grandmother. She was the office manager for Town & Country Restaurant for 36 years. Viola was preceded in death by her husband, John David Bentz; son, Raymond Wayne Billingsley; sisters, Anna Belle Smith, Clara Mae McKenzie and Rosa Lee O'Dell. Viola is survived by her daughter, Rita (Dr. John) Webber; and four grandchildren, Mark (Shelly) Webber, Jeffrey (Melissa) Webber, all from Knoxville, and Nikki (Andy) Wood, of Tampa, Fla., and Chad (Holly) Billingsley, of Marietta, Ga.; and a special friend Al Reaves. Visitation will be held for Viola at 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at Soddy-Daisy Health Care Center, for their loving care and thoughtfulness during Violas illness.
