Alma Walker

Alma Carolyn Walker passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013. She was born on April 25, 1937 to the late George and Nancy Higgins. She was preceded in death by son, Charles Dale Walker; son-in-law, Joe Caro; brother, Nelson Higgins; and sister, Mary Ellen Weispfenning. Alma and her husband of sixty years, Edward Walker, built Walker's Music Center, and for the next 21 years she helped to raise a generation of musicians. For the next 14 years Walkers Antiques allowed her to combine her passion for business and love of antiques. Alma is survived by her husband, Edward Walker; son, Danny Walker (Andrea); daughters, Lisa Walker Caro and Ginger (Dan) Coulter; grandchildren, Cole Walker, Brooke Winsett, Candace Winsett, Lori Estes (Curtis); and great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Johnson and Jake, Kenzey and Gracey Estes; sisters, Doris Kimsey, Patricia Powell, Donald Higgins (Peggy), Naomi Tice and Margie Tipton. Along with many musicians including Trevor Linn, Tim Starnes and Barry Wilde. The Rev. Clyde Fitzgerald and Rev. Rusty Revis of Old Washington Baptist Church will be officiating. Visitation will be 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. today, Jan. 3.
