Paul Schrader Sr.

Paul Richard Schrader Sr., 79, died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at his residence. Mr. Schrader was a resident of North Georgia for more than 40 years and attended Boynton United Methodist Church. He retired from Signal Mountain Cement Co. after 22 years of service. Paul was a farmer at heart and loved raising cattle. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in the Korean War. Paul was one of 13 children and several have preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by parents, Herman and Gladys Schrader. Survivors are wife of 56 years, Marie Schrader; son, Paul "Chip" (Melissa) Schrader Jr., Ringgold, Greg (Amy) Schrader, Marietta, W. Alan Schrader, Ringgold, and Ron Brock, Ringgold; grandchildren, Matthew, Katie, Nathan, Joshua, Caneel, Vivienne, Christopher, Jessica and Misty; and two great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. today at Boynton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Brett DeHart officiating.
