Tammy Wood

Tammy A. Wood, 49, died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014, at her residence. Born in Dunkirk, N.Y., Tammy was the daughter of Clarence and Patricia Baker Wood. She was a graduate of the University of New York Fredonia. Tammy was a writer of childrens books and a lover of animals. She moved from New York to the Spring City community 14 years ago. Tammy was active in the Audrey Pack Memorial Library in Spring City and the Wolf Creek Fire Department. She attended Wolf Creek Baptist Church and the Spring City United Methodist Church. Tammy was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Wood. Survivors include her mother, Pat Wood and stepfather, Marshall Patterson, of Spring City; and brother, Ronald Wood, of Knoxville. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Jan. 4, in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Forgey officiating. The family will receive friends today two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Audrey Pack Memorial Library Foundation, P.O.
