Quillen Green

Quillen Green, 85, of East Ridge, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014 in a local hospital. Mr. Green was born June 12, 1928 to the late Pearl and Andrew Green in Dutton, Ala. He had spent the greatest part of his life in the East Lake/East Ridge areas of Chattanooga and was a faithful member of Frawley Road Baptist Church. He worked for many years at Peerless Woolen Mill and later retired from DeSoto, Inc. Mr. Green was also a member of the East Lake Lions Club and was elected Lion of the Decade. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Green, son, Rev. David Green, sisters, Zelma Higgins, Bertie Sparks, & Dovie Jones, and brother, Roscoe Green. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Richard Donley; granddaughter, Tracy (Chris) Lane, and great-granddaughter, Sophia Lane; sister, Shirley Pittman; several nieces and nephews. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held Wednesday Jan. 8, at 1 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Pastor Ken Wolfe officiating.
