Minnie Ballard

Minnie Elizabeth Lowrey Ballard, 85, died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014, at Highland's Medical Center. Mrs. Ballard was retired from Shaw industry. She was preceded in death by parents, Albert and Ollie Morgan Lowrey; husband, Carl Ballard; grandson, Bryan Butler; granddaughter, Jennifer Cornett; brothers, Jack Lowrey, Joe Lowrey; sisters, Christine Berry, Winnie "Bill" Sims and Betty Gaskell. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Joan and Jonah Cornett, Teresa and Earnest Bradley; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Carol Ballard; grandchildren, Jana Butler (Terry), Larrian Mason (Tim), Whitney Smith; great-grandchildren, Justin Doran, Logan Doran, Dylan Mason, Savannah Mason, Shalyn Smith and Grant Smith; sister, Peggy Martin; brothers, Dwight Lowrey (JoAnn), Doug Lowrey (Wilma); special nephew, Cecil Davis. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Corner Stone Funeral chapel with Bishop O.A. Bethune and the Rev. Tony Giddens officiating. Burial will follow in Maxwell cemetery. Family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and 9 a.m. until service time on Thursday.
