Wally West James Wallace "Wally" West Jr., 53, passed away at his home in Hixson on Monday, Jan. 6, 2014. A 1978 graduate of City High School, he achieved an associates degree in biology from Chattanooga State Community College. He was a member of Hill City Lodge #603. Wally was a lifelong Tennessee fan and enjoyed watching games with his close friends, Steve Gerren and Tracy Bayless. Wally will be missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Smith West; and father, James Wallace West Sr. He is survived by his brother, Vince West and sister-in-law, Lisa West; niece, Elysa West; nephew, Donovan West; brothers for life, Steve Gerren and Tracy Bayless, of Chattanooga; brother, William Wayne Wilder, of Hamilton, Ohio; along with several aunts and uncles. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow the service in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East. The family will receive friends for visitation from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Siskin Rehab Center, 1 Siskin Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37403.
