Robert Britt Jr.

Robert D. Britt Jr., of Daytona Beach, Fla., went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Jan. 8, 2014. He was born Jan. 11, 1929 He was a graduate of Florida State University and received his Masters from Duke University. He retired from DuPont after 32 years as an analytical chemist. He served as president of the Signal Mountain Lions Club, chairman of the Hamilton County Air Pollution Control Board, was a member of Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He loved people, he loved to play golf and ride his bike. He is greatly loved by his family and friends and will be missed till we see him again. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Marceil H. Britt; his four children, Debbora N. Cruson and husband, Chuck; Nancy B. Hill and husband, Mark; Richard H. Britt and wife, Janet; Sharon B. Taylor and husband, Mike; his 15 grandchildren, Michael Newman (Sienna); Ben Britt (Marianne); Jeffrey Walker (Kristan); Philip Walker; Christine Britt; Elizabeth Gregory (Brett); Bradley Britt; Matthew Hill; Katelyn Walker; Evan Cruson; Katie Hill; and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be held at Signal Mountain Presbyterian, at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, with no visitation. Officiating will be Dr. William Dudley and Dr. Fred Steelman.
