Ronald Wimpy

Ronald Charles Wimpy, 68, a resident of Cleveland, passed away at home Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014, with his daughter and son by his side. Ronnie loved life and fought so hard to live when all of the odds were stacked against him. Even after being told numerous times he only had months to live, he not only survived but flourished. He loved going to car shows and reminiscing about all of the old cars he had in his lifetime, and ones that got away somehow. His biggest regret was getting sick because he couldnt take care of his kids anymore. He always said he somehow lost us and that time with us. None of that mattered once he came home to live with his daughter Sabrina nine years ago. He was home and it was time to give back to him all he had given to us. He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Virgie Wimpy; brothers, Harold, Farris and Doyle Wimpy; sisters, Eva Jean Herod, Betty Sue Padgett, Mildred Harris and Charlotte Black. He is survived by his daughter, Virgie Sabrina Michele Wimpy Stover and her husband, David, of Cleveland; son, Charles William Wilburn Wimpy, of Ringgold Ga.; granddaughter, Ashley Brooke Cook, "The Kids" Chloe and Claira; his twin brother, Donald Wimpy, of Taylor Mich.; sisters, Doris Hullander and Peggy Peters, of Georgia; special cousins, Evelyn "Evvy" Dunn and Eloise "Elly" Dunn, both of Wood Station Ga. There will be a private graveside service Sunday Jan. 12, 2014, at Dunnagan Baptist Church Cemetery in Rocky Face, Ga. The family will receive friends from 4 until 8 p.m. Saturday at the North Ocoee St. Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes in Cleveland. A special thank you needs to be acknowledged for the care our "Daddy" has received over the last nine years. Dr. Mark McKenzie, Shirley Spears NP and Misty CMA for their dedication to "Daddy" for eight years. Dr. Nathan Chamberlain who saved his life that fateful day in October 2005 and continued giving him such good care. Dr. Patrick Foley who solved his bladder problem and treated him with dignity and respect each and every visit. Caris Healthcare who has cared for him for the last 10 months. Sharon, Jessica and Dr. Frank Calhoun who have been diligent in meeting all of our needs. All I had to do was ask and things were taken care of. Last but not least Eddie Test Medical, Nora and Trey; without them, for eight years we would not have had the supplies and equipment we needed. They were only a phone call away and they would send what we needed to our home. Finally to our neighbors Patty, Vickie and Sarah who came running when needed. My daughters Ashley and Jessica who dropped everything to be there when I couldnt. And my husband who has been by my side for nine years loving our Daddy.
