Jack Davenport

Jack E. Davenport, 69, of Harrison, Tenn., passed away, Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at his home. He was the son of the late William and Mary Frances Davenport . Jack graduated from Central High School in Chattanooga and worked for Siskin Rehab. He later went to work for Siskin Steel where he retired. He was an avid "Ford" Nascar and Tennessee Vols fan. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his loving wife of 31 years, Ruth Davenport, Harrison, Tenn.; sister, Barbara (Bobby) Hawkins, brother, William "Bill" (Elizabeth "Liz") Davenport, sister, Nancy (Jim) Ebert, all of Ooltewah, Tenn.; sister-in-law, Jane (David) Portwood, Hixson, Tenn., brother-in-law, John Vicars; mother-in-law, Mayme Jean Vicars, both of Gray, Tenn.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m., Tuesday Jan. 14, in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
