J.W. West

West, 78, passed away Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014. He was preceded in death by his wife, Belle Shadrick West; son, Chet West; parents, George and Mattie West. Mr. West was retired from TVA and a United States Army Veteran. Those left to cherish his memories are five children, Mike (Kristy) West, Terry West, Gena Howell, Jody West, Janee (Dwayne) Payne; eight grandchildren, Brooke (Josh) Scott, Brittany (Bill) Welch, Chelsea Payne, Paige Howell, Peyton Howell, Cherish Payne, Ramsey West and Jaylyn West; two great grandchildren, Jagger Scott, Ryder Welch. Family will receive friends 3-9 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. John Hedrick officiating. Internment at Pine Grove Cemetery in Jasper with full military honors provided by the Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard. Arrangements are by Whitwell Memorial Funeral Home, Inc. 423-658-7777.
