Nicky Henry

Nick Henry WHITWELL Nicky Herman Henry, 62, passed from this life to his heavenly home on Friday, Jan. 10, 2014. Nick was a 1970 graduate from Red Bank High School, an 1978 honors graduate from Chattanooga State Orthopedic Physicians Assistant School and earned a honors diploma from Baroness Erlanger School of Nursing. He retired after 21 years from Memorial Hospital where he was able to minister physically and spiritually as a registered nurse. He lived each day with a great appreciation for Gods creation and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He touched thousands of lives and will be greatly missed by his friends and family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Caldwell Henry; grandparents, Molly and Oscar Henry, Lester and Ada VanHoosier Caldwell. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 35 years Barbara Hamlin Henry; his loving father Herman "Whick" Henry; brothers, Herschel Henry, of Signal Mtn, William "Billy" (Ann) Barber, of Palatka, Fla.; his three daughters, Molly (Shannon) Dawson, Virginia (Tim) Waters, Elizabeth (Travis) Brown; five grandchildren, Logan Hamilton and Steven Dawson, Norah Henry, Mason, and Kailey Brown all of Whitwell. Family will receive friends today Noon to 9 p.m. CST. Funeral services will be Noon CST, Tuesday, Jan. 14, at Nicks home church the Way of the Cross Baptist Church in Dunlap with Rev. Lanny Tate and Rev. Hershel Powell officiating. Internment to follow at Whitwell Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are by Whitwell Memorial Funeral Home, Inc. 423-658-7777.
