Robert Goins

Robert "Bobby" Fay Goins, 68, passed away Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, at his residence. A native of Athens, Tenn., he has lived in the North Georgia area for the past 59 years, was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of House of Prayer in Wallaceville, Ga., where he was choir director. He was a former employee of Gin-Tech as a carpenter and was a member of Local Union #74. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen Eugene and Edna Mae Goodman Goins; brother, W.A. Goins; sister, Virginia Hicks and grandson, Josh Adams. He is survived by his wife, Souetta Miller Goins, of Tunnel Hill; two children, Brett Petty and Abigal Petty, both of Tunnel Hill; stepdaughter, Glenda Adams, of Ringgold, Ga.; two sisters, Carloyn Howard, of LaFayette, Ga., and Hazel Qualls, of Rossville; six brothers, Ronnie, Carlos and Edward Goins, all of Rossville, Lonnie and Jimmy Goins, both of Chickamauga, Ga., and David Goins, of Atlanta; grandson, Joseph Hicks; three great-granddaughters, Hailey Adams, Preslei Hicks and Blakeli Hicks; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, at Chattanooga National Cemetery with the Rev. Alfred Holland and Rev. Dennis Goins officiating. The family will receive friends today from 5-9 p.m. and Tuesday until 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. An online register book may be signed at www.wilsonfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are by W.L.
