Beatrice Bailey

LaFAYETTE Beatrice Pike Bailey, 88, of Kingsport, Tenn., formerly of LaFayette, went to be with the Lord Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014. She was born on Sept. 14, 1925 and was the daughter of the late Frank Henry and Delia Massey Pike and was preceded in death by six brothers, Gene, Roy, Rayford, Joe, Frank and Marshall; and one sister, Grace "Sally" Pike. Bea was a very active member of Caney Branch Volunteer Fire Department while she lived in Greene County. She was always assisting with anything needed at the Fire Department. She was also a very active member of the Caney Branch Home Demonstration Club (FCE) and served as president of the St. James PTA. She was a devoted loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a friend who will be sadly missed. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Wayne Bailey; children and spouses, Henry and Jamie Bailey, Johnson City, Tenn., Jacqui and Jack Belcher, San Antonio, Texas, Janet and Terry Thomas, Round Rock and Jennie and Joey Greene, Gray, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, Rebecca Owens, Bethany Hensley, Megan Bailey, Jenna Bailey, Candith Bailey, Titan Thomas and Taurus Thomas; great-grandson, James Owens; nieces, Carolyn May, Delia Bollinger and Sandra Barbato; nephews, Allen Pike, Gene Pike and Bill Pike. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in LaFayette City Cemetery. Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 404 S. Moore Road.
