Charline Long

Charline "Granny" Long, 79, of Maryville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014. She had lived in the Chattanooga and North Georgia areas for most of her life before moving to Maryville in 1999 and was of the Christian faith. She was previously employed with Parkridge Medical Center as a CNA for many years before retiring in 1984 and enjoyed sewing and making crafts. She was completely devoted to loving and caring for her family, especially her grandchildren and she will be greatly missed by all that knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Willie Ann Jones; grandson, John Perry Jr.; and her son-in-law, Danny Clay Lowery. Survivors include her children and spouses, Billy (Diane) Long, of Rossville, Vicki Long Lowery, of Chickamauga, Ga., Ricky "Peanut" (Donna) Long of Dalton, Ga., Randy (Carol) Long, of Chickamauga, Ga., and Robbie (Fairy) Long, of Maryville, Tenn.; brother and sister-in-law, Nick and (Brenda) Jones, of Riceville, Tenn.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Evelyn and (Carson) Madewell, of Chattanooga, and Wanda (Victor) Calfee of Cleveland, Tenn.; 21 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Brother Bud Stiltner officiating. Burial will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.
