Marjorie Downs

Marjorie Downs, 85, passed away on Monday, Jan. 13, 2014. Mrs. Downs was born in Chattanooga, and attended The University Of Tennessee Chattanooga. She was most proud of being a mom. Mrs. Downs was preceded in death by her parents, William Harvey Leslie and Mary Nell Tyler Leslie; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry (Felicia) Downs; and brother, Richard Harvey Leslie. She is survived by her husband, Locklan Downs; daughter, Gale Downs, of Gainesville, Ga.; sister-in-law, Wanda Leslie, of Chattanooga; brother and sister-in-law, Darrel and Carolyn McCauley, of Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; grandchildren, Greg Downs and Jason Downs, of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and great-grandchildren, Alexia and Sophia; as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at Cumming Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery in Chattanooga, at 3:30 p.m. The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. today at McDonald & Son Funeral Home.
