Phyllis Elizabeth Holder, 94, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014. She was the longest living member of Chamberlain Baptist Church, having been a member for 83 years. She played the piano faithfully for the Wednesday service and for Sunday School functions. She had been an LPN at the Red Bank hospital. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Myron Holder; parents, Wiley Edgar and Marian Lucille Poole; and brother, Walton Poole. Survivors include her daughter, Elaine (Steve) Baker; grandsons, Charles Kenneth (Edie) Leamon and Raymond Scott (Beverly) Leamon; great-grandchildren, Charles (Cassie) Leamon, Daniel Leamon, John Leamon, and Katelyn Leamon; nieces, Virginia Bryant, Phyllis Adams; and nephews, Wiley Elton (Nancy) Poole and Waymon Poole. Receiving of the Friends will be from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 4506 Hixson Pike, Hixson. A graveside service will be held that afternoon at 2:00 PM at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Pastor Jake Carroll officiating.
