Dorothy Evatt

Dorothy Lee Hale Evatt died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, following a brief illness. Formerly of Chattanooga, she had lived in Birmingham since 1996. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Hazel Lee Hale; and her husband, Frank G. Evatt. She is survived by her children, Amy Evatt Floyd, of Birmingham; Bill Evatt (Barbara), of Mobile; her granddaughter, Anna Lee Evatt, of Chattanooga; her former daughter-in-law, Lynn Carney Evatt Taylor, of Sewanee, Tenn. Dorothy was a member of Wilson Chapel United Methodist Church and Roebuck Springs Garden Club. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at Wilson Chapel United Methodist Church with visitation at 1 p.m. at the church. Her ashes will be interred in the spring at Hamilton Memorial Gardens in Chattanooga. In lieu of flowers, Donations can be made to Wilson Chapel United Methodist Church, 412 Cumberland Drive, Birmingham, AL 35206.
