Emily Zahorec

Emily "Millie" Zahorec joined the Angels on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014. Born in Lorain, Ohio, Millie graduated from Lorain High School with an emphasis in Business. She worked for Smith and Gherharts, Ohios Department of Drivers Licenses and U.S. Steel. In 1948 Millie married Edward Gabriel Zahorec, her devoted husband of nearly 50 years until his passing in 1995. The couple relocated to Chattanooga in 1970 with Lorain Division of Koehring. Together they attended UTC, golfed at Creeks Bend and traveled to visit family during Eds second career at TVA. Everyone who knew "Millie" admired her beauty, Loyalty, Kindness and strength. In response she loved family, particularly grandson Billy, friends and neighbors. Above all Millie loved the Catholic Church. A lifelong Catholic, she belonged to St. Nicholas Byzantine, St. Peters in Lorain and St. Judes locally. Millie was preceded in death by her husband, Ed. Survivors include her daughters, Ellen and Debbie; grandson, Bill and Melissa Wilson, of Orlando, Fla., and the Porostosky, Zahorec and Wilson Clan. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014 at St. Jude's Catholic Church with Father Charlie Burton officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Please remember Millie with prayers. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude's, Our Lady of Lourdes in South Pittsburg, Tenn., or to local catholic charities.
