Windfield Hall

Windfield Hall, 96, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, in a local healthcare facility. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Lee Smith Co. after over 49 years. He was a faithful member of Orchard Knob Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and vice chairman. He was preceded in death by his wives, Minnie Lee Hall and Lizzie Nell Hall; parents, Robert and Argressie Hall; brothers, Robert and Estell Hall; stepson, J.C. Ruffin; stepgreat-grandson, Thomas Ruffin III. Survivors include stepdaughter, Melverline Cooke Florence Frazier; eight stepgrandchildren; 28 stepgreat-grandchildren; three stepgreat-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins; other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Orchard Knob Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Carlos Williams as the eulogist. Burial: at 10 a.m. Monday in Chattanooga National Cemetery. The body will lie-in-state after 1:30 p.m. today at Taylor Funeral Home.
