Jeanette Byrd

LaFAYETTE Jeanette Byrd, 85, passed away Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014 at a local healthcare facility. She was a lifelong resident of the Noble Community and a believer in Jesus Christ. She began work at age 14 at Richmond Hosiery Mill in Rossville and Cobble Muse in Chattanooga and for many years before retirement at Fortune Mills in LaFayette. She was preceded in death by parents, Will and Lily Byrd; four sisters, and three brothers. Survivors are nephew, several nieces and "adopted little brother" Jeremy McElhaney. A special thank you to the Staff at Parkside Nursing Home and Life Choice for their care and compassion, and her guardian angel, Betty Smith, for many prayers. Entombment will be at the LaFayette Memory Gardens Tuesday Jan. 28, at 1 p.m. Conducted by Rev. Marvin Eskew. In lieu of flowers, as requested by Jeanette, a donation in her memory may be made to a favorite charity.
