McDONALD Larry Gene Sprayberry, 71, was called home by the Lord on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014. Larry was a loving son to the late Coy Benny and Annie Ruth Sprayberry, of Rome, Ga. He served in the Army for 3 years before he finally retired from Brock and Brach Candy after 27 years of of loyal, hard work. Larry is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Ed and Jack Sprayberry; sisters Faye Adams, Mary Smith and Annie "Punk" Sprayberry. Larry is survived by a loving and devoted wife of 35 years Virginia Paulette Sprayberry; sons Christopher Sprayberry, of McDonald, Tenn., Timothy (Jennifer) Sprayberry, of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Larry "Bruce" (Elizabeth) Sprayberry, of Centre, Ala.; daughters Terry Hill, of Cave Springs, Ga., and Lisa Sprayberry, of Centre, Ala.; brothers Guy (Patsy) Sprayberry and Charlie (Helen) Sprayberry; He was blessed with eight Grandchildren, Jacob Levi Sprayberry, Nealee Jean Sprayberry, Kyle Sprayberry, Cody Sprayberry, Benjamin Hill, Joseph Hill, Lucas Hill, Grace Hill and three great- grandchildren. The family will be receiving friends today, January 27, 2014, from 3-7 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home-North Chapel and on Tuesday, Jan. 28, from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Funeral service for Larry will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Deacon/layman Dennis Strickland officiating. The family has selected these men to assist as pallbearers, Ben Sprayberry, Jeff Sprayberry, Dwayne Strickland, Danny Strickland, Dennis Strickland and Dwayne Strickland II. Honorary pallbearer Dan Sprayberry. Entombment will follow the service to Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family would like to thank the staff, nurses and Doctors of Hospice of Chattanooga on Walker Road, for their caring and compassion work that they provided during this time of need.
