Leon Williams, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, in Athens, Ala. He was an Air Force veteran, having served during the Vietnam Era. He was preceded in death by his father, Grady Lee; mother, Bobbie Williams; brothers, Robert Lee Williams and John Williams. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Williams, of Athens, Ala.; son, Timothy Williams, of Chattanooga; daughters, LaShun Williams-Johnson, of Chattanooga and Nicole Williams-Chrismon, of Nashville; 10 grandchildren; sister, Isabella Lane, of Chattanooga; uncles, Coy Robinson, of Chattanooga, Carnell Robinson, Joe Robinson, Greg Turner, all of Athens, Ala., and Bennie Malone, of Chicago, Ill.; several nieces, nephews, cousins; other relatives and friends. The body will lie-in-state at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Taylor Funeral Home. Visitation will follow from noon-1 p.m. and a Reflection Hour from 1-2 p.m. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
