Barbara Stricklen

Barbara I. McDaniel Stricklen, 79, passed peacefully at her home, Sunday morning, Jan. 26, 2014, surrounded by her loving children. She was a member of St. Elmo Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Stricklen; her grandson, Clayton D. McElroy; her parents, James and Eula Mae Dulaney; her sisters, Jimmie Mae Watson and Mary Ann Huggins; her brother, James Henry Dulaney. Left to cherish her memories are her children, Clifford B. McDaniel, of Las Vegas; Donald McDaniel, of Chattanooga; Gloria (Jimmy) Black, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Elizabeth Mitchell, Barbara Mitchell, Charlesetta McDaniel, Andrea R. Brady and Marsie Stricklen, of Chattanooga; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be he held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, at St. Elmo Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Billy Church officiating. Interment in Forest Hills Cemetery. The body will lie in state after noon today and the family will receive friends from 67 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
