Louis Garner

Louis Stanley Garner, 77, of East Ridge, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014. Mr. Garner was born and raised in Tracy City, Tenn. He was a US Marine, a member of East Ridge Church of Christ, and retired from Wheland Foundry as operations manager. After retirement, he and his wife enjoyed traveling to different cities attending bluegrass festivals. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ora Garner; two brothers; and three sisters. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Niccoa Garner; children, Beverly (Mitchell) Grubbs; Ed (Teresa) Garner and Tracy (Robert) Mills; grandchildren, Kyle OBrien, Bridgette OBrien, Rachael Garner, Cara Garner and Chandler Mills; sisters, Rose Ledbetter, Ruth Earp and Carolyn Hughes; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. (EST) today and on from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. (EST) on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at the funeral home with Ministers Charles Cochran and Ray Winton officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked memorial donations be made to the East Ridge Church of Christ Benevolence Program (951 McBrien Road, East Ridge, TN 37412).
