Virgil Garner

Virgil L. Garner, 56, of East Ridge, passed away Saturday, July 5, 2014. A lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area, he was the son of the late William Herbert and Frances Garner and was the Manager of the East Ridge Car Wash, where he had worked for the past 32 years. Virgil also loved fishing and hunting in his spare time. Survivors include his loving wife, Kathy Garner; son, William Garner, East Ridge; daughter, Samantha (Alex) Bowman, Knoxville; two brothers, William David (Cindy) Garner and Eugene (Lisa) Garner; sister, Linda (Sam) Carter. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the East Chapel with Chaplain Ray Williams officiating. Interment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association at heart.org. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. today, July 7, at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 404 S. Moore Road.
