Lamar Moreland

Clayton "Bart" Lamar Moreland Sr., 86, passed away Monday July 7, 2014. A lifelong resident of the Ringgold area, he was a Veteran of the U.S. Army where he served during the Korean War. During his service time Mr. Moreland was the recipient of the Korean Service Medal, Bronze Service Star, the United Nations Service Medal and three Purple Hearts. He was a former employee of Sweetwater Rug, a member of the VFW and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Lee and Stella Amalee Myrick Moreland; son, Clayton L. Moreland Jr.; and two brothers, John and James Moreland. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Larry Craig, of Ringgold.; two grandchildren, Matthew Fincher and Lee Moreland; one great-grandchild; four nieces; and one nephew. Graveside services will be held 2:30 p.m. Thursday July 10, 2014, at Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-9 p.m. today and until 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. An online register book may be signed at www.wilsonfuneralhome.com.
