Minnie Delashmitt

Minnie "Peggy" Elizabeth Campbell Delashmitt left family on earth softly at sunset on Sunday, July 6, 2014, to be with Jesus and her family in heaven. Peggy dedicated her life to the three things she loved the most, her family, her friends and her flowers. She loved to spend time in her flower garden and on her porch watching the hummingbirds. She was an avid sports fan of Lady Vols basketball and the Atlanta Braves. She was a member of Birchwood Baptist Church. Her greatest joy was seeing her husband James accept Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Cleo and Violet Campbell; and her brother, Doug Campbell. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, James Delashmitt; sister, Tricia Roark; children, Teena (Bill) Wells, Terry (Carlene) Delashmitt and Jeff (Debbie) Delashmitt; grandchildren, Josh, Jake, Nathan, Alison, Austin, Katie, Cayla, Tiffany, Rachael, Jordan, Cade and Connor; great-grandchildren Avery, Capri and Campbell. The family will receive friends from 2-3:30 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2014, at Birchwood Baptist Church. Funeral services will begin at 3:30 p.m. with David Delmotte officiating. Burial will follow at 4 p.m. at Johnston Cemetery. The family extends heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Memorial Hospital for their compassionate care of Peggy.
