Elma Winkler

Elma B. Winkler, 88, of Ooltewah, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at her home. She was born Aug. 12, 1925 in Apison, Tenn., to the late Robert and Mable Davis Bell. She attended Ooltewah Baptist Church and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Her husband, Charles E. Winkler; daughter-in-law, Sandra Winkler; four brothers, Willis, Wurlitz, William and Frank Bell; and two sisters, Elizabeth Wrinkle, and Christina Ford preceded her in death. Survivors include her two sons, Charles S. (Paulette) Winkler and Stanley E. Winkler, of Chattanooga; five grandchildren, Kathy Eldridge, Karen (Lynn) Younce, Lisa Winkler, and Lindsay (Tyler) Menne and Ashley (Michael) Weller; two great-grandsons, Jason Eldridge and Reed Weller. A graveside service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Plowman Cemetery with the Rev. Bob Willerson officiating. The family will receive friends from 3-6 p.m. Friday at the Valley View Chapel.
