Joe Bean

Joseph L. Bean, 81, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 19, 2014, surrounded by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Ersie Bean, and two brothers, J.D. and Charlie Bean. Joe was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He retired from the Chattanooga City and Hamilton County School System with 35 years of service. He was a member of the Red Bank Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy S. Bean; son, Mike (Dianne) Bean; daughter, Debbie (Stuart) Porter; and grandson, David (Shay) Bean. Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. today, July 21, at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
