Mildred Hundt

Mildred Risley Hundt, 94, of East Ridge, died Tuesday, July 15, 2014. She was born Dec. 31, 1919 in Chattanooga, daughter of the late Edward Risley and Mabyan Parker Talley. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Hundt; and brother, Edward Risley Jr. Mrs. Hundt worked as a medical assistant in the offices of Dr. Charles Hawkins. She was a charter member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, and was very active in the Lutheran Womens Missionary League (LWML). She volunteered many years with the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She was an avid artist specializing in oil paintings. Survivors include her daughter, Karen A. Hundt (Rick Brines); son, Victor (Sue) Hundt; two grandchildren, Kristin (Chris) Brady and John Allen Hundt; four great-grandchildren, Devin Brady, Tiffany Brady, Kaylin Brady and Shelby Brady; stepgrandchild, Hayley Ogrodowczyk (Scott); stepgreat-grandchildren, Brooke Ogrodowczyk and Cale Ogrodowczyk. Memorial services will be held noon Monday, July 21, 2014, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with Pastor Christopher Sheets officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3-7 p.m. Sunday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
