W.A. Collier

Walter "W.A." Agnew Collier, 77, of Pikeville and Ringgold, Ga., died at his home in Ringgold Friday evening, July 18, 2014. He was born in Dayton on November 2, 1936, the son of the late John and Flossie (Travis) Collier, and was also preceded in death by his five brothers and two sisters. W.A. was a graduate of Rhea Central High School, class of 1955, and had been a long time employee at the Dayton WalMart. He was a member of the Dayton Masonic Lodge 512 F&AM and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Haggard) Collier of Pikeville and Ringgold; his daughter, Sharon (Scott) Dicorato of Dayton; three granddaughters, Chloe Dicorato, Kelsey Dicorato, Alexis Willerson; one great-granddaughter and many nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be held today, July 21, at 7 p.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Clyde Fitzgerald officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his parents in Rhea Memory Gardens at 11 a.m. Tuesday with Rev. Warner Collier officiating.
