Curtis Morris Sr.

Curtis Lee Morris Sr., 72, was called to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 23, 2014. Curtis was born in Hartselle, Ala., on Dec. 29, 1942. He was raised and lived in Chattanooga. He served proudly in Vietnam with the United States Army. He was self-employed and worked as a cab driver for United and Mercury Cab companies. He was preceded in death by loving parents, Cluster Morris and Fannie Beatrice Orr Dixon; and brother, Lester Morris. He is survived by a loving son, Curtis L. Morris Jr.; and daughter, Malisa (Gerald) Sorrells Parham; seven grandchildren, Taylor, Tariq, Adrianna, Jordan, Gerald Jr., Takeisha and JaNece, all of Chattanooga; seven sisters, all of Hartselle, Ala.; several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at Chattanooga National Cemetery. The body will lie in state after noon today and the family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. this evening at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
