Vera Prestwood

Vera Thompson Prestwood, 91, of Chattanooga, passed away Friday, July 25, 2014. She was born April 19, 1923, in Flintstone, Ga., to the late Mattie and Clifford Harris. She was raised in Dalton. Mrs. Prestwood was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, the Order of the Eastern Star and the East Lake Garden Club. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Don E. Thompson and U.L. "Gene" Prestwood; sister, Mary Burgess; brother-in-law Clayron Burgess; brother Virgil Harris. Survivors include her son, Donald E. Thompson Jr.; grandsons, Christian and Alan; granddaughter Laura; great-granddaughter, Lydia; brothers, Lloyd (Doris) Harris and Leo (Juanita) Harris; and several nieces and nephews. Join us for a celebration of Veras life at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. Christian Thompson officiating.
