Douglas Fitch

Douglas Fitch, 72, died Monday, July 28, 2014, at a Sewanee, Tenn., hospital. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was born in Altamont on May 31, 1942, to Floyd and Ollie Fay Sanders Fitch, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Jean Turner Fitch; daughter, Lisa (James) Anderson; son, Lee Doug Fitch (Sherry Davenport); brothers, Wilfred (Marie) Fitch, Cohutta, Ga., Chester (Mae) Fitch, Altamont; sisters, Etheline Hobbs, Altamont, Lorene Barrett, Altamont, Pauline Wellman, Morrison and Cathy Walker, Centertown; grandchildren, Brandon and Jade Anderson. Graveside funeral services will be 1 p.m. CDT Thursday, July 31, at the Altamont Cemetery with Minister Wayne Norris officiating.
