Faye White-Smith

Faye L. White-Smith, 87, passed away Monday, May 19, 2014, peacefully surrounded by family at the Tuscany Hospice Home in the Villages, Fla. Faye was born in Chattanooga and was married to former Chattanooga News-FreePress sports editor Austin White for 30 years. For several years, she wrote a column in the local paper about the Tennessee Walking Horse Industry. She moved to Summerfield, Fla., 30 years ago where she worked for the New York Times until she retired. She is survived by her two sons, Bill and Jim White; a daughter, Nancy Miller; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Faye loved life, being around friends, family and horses. She loved living on the lake in Summerfield and spending quality time with her family and friends. The memorial service will be held at The Tri-County Worship Center at 8780 SE 157th Place, Summerfield, at 10 a.m., Sunday, June, 8. Pastor Bill Campbell will lead the service. We want to celebrate her life and cherish the wonderful times we had with her.
