Herbert Chapman

Elder Herbert L. Chapman, 92, died Saturday, May 31, 2014, at his residence. Survivors include daughters, Betty Koepsel (Ralph), Dannie Rogers (C.J.), Glenda Chapman George, Martha Carylon Chapman; grandchildren, Thomas Hart, Cindia Williams (Mark), Sinnamon Bovey (Brian), Jason McDill, Chad McDill (Megan), Georgianna Pollock (Mike); 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia Elliott; and stepsisters, Georgia Martin and Sylvia Nancarol. Mr. Chapman was born in DeKalb County and began his Ministry in 1954, traveling many states preaching. He pastored churches in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Missouri and Florida before retiring in Ider. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Chapman. Burial will follow in Fuller cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. CDT today and 10 a.m. until service time on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tri-State Primitive Baptist Youth Camp.
