Margaret Talbott

Margaret Stone Talbott, 88, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2014. A native of Charleston, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Arley and Omah Stone. In 1945, she married her husband, the late Robert Talbott, and together raised their family in Knoxville. She was a former member of Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church and enjoyed a long career in the banking industry with Hamilton National Bank, later known as United American. Margaret moved to Chattanooga in 2006 to be closer to her daughters family. Margaret was an avid bridge player, playing competitively for many years. However, she was most fond of her beloved dog, Herbie. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also predeceased by her sister, Mary Frances McNabb. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Jennifer Talbott, of Nashville; daughter, Debbie Talbott Ames, of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Holland, Rob and Carson Talbott; Hanna and Benton Ames. A service to commemorate her life will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2014, in the funeral home chapel. The family will receive friends following the ceremony until 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home. A private entombment will be held at Highland Memorial, South, in Knoxville. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or CARIS Hospice of Chattanooga.
