Lillie McIntosh

Lillie Beatrice McIntosh, 89, was born on Aug. 22, 1924, and so sweetly took Gods hand on Friday, May 30, 2014. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Willis C. (Lois) Vaughn; brother, Willis P. Vaughn; and her daughter Lois Lorraine McIntosh. She was educated in the Chattanooga Public Schools and graduated from Howard High School. Upon finishing high school, she attended Spelman College. She returned to Chattanooga and met the love of her life of 68 years, Mr. Billy H. McIntosh Sr., whom she leaves to cherish her memory along with their children, Mamie Elvira McIntosh, Billy H. McIntosh (Carolyn) Jr., Fred A. (Elaine) McIntosh Sr. and Monica McIntosh Brown, of Atlanta, Ga.; devoted adopted son, Jerome (Deborah) Jackson; grandchildren, Ronald (Alletta) Robinson Jr., Fred A. (Sojourna) McIntosh Jr., Cozetta (Terrence) Gragg, Miracle McIntosh, Ken Jones, Kayla Brown, and Tyrek McIntosh; great-grandchildren, Malachi Granger, Zoei Granger, Sharnelle Robinson, Kendra Robinson, Ronald Robinson III, Michael Robinson, Marquis McIntosh, Tiara McIntosh, Jaida Broadnax, Candace Broadnax, Gabriella Gragg and Skylar Gragg; sister-in-law, Mamie Whitehead, Detroit, Mich.; cousins, Doris Kelley, Barbara (Kenneth) Willis, the Blakemore/Davenport family and several devoted friends and many other relatives. Mrs. McIntosh worked faithfully in the Chattanooga Public School System where she was an aide to many teachers and students in the classroom until retiring after 20 years. She was a faithful member of the St. Paul AME Church. Funeral services will be at noon today, June 6, 2014, at St. Paul AME Church, 2514 Williams St., 37408, with Rev. Kenneth D. Love officiating. Burial will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery. Arrangements are by Hardwick & Sons Funeral Home, 423-267-1244.
