Felix Montgomery Jr

Felix Bowden Montgomery Jr., husband of Josita Montgomery, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2014. Mr. Montgomery was a proud South Carolinian. He was born on July 16, 1930, in Greenville, S.C., and was a graduate of Greenville High School and Georgia Tech, where he received both his B.S. and M.S. in Engineering. He served as a Captain in the United States Army as a commissioned officer in the Korean War. His career covered cotton mill management, cattle farming and investment securities. He was a devoted member of St. Andrews Anglican Church in Mount Pleasant, S.C. He is survived by his beloved wife, Josita Montgomery; his son and daughter, William and Christine Montgomery; his step-sons, John and Mitchell Moore; two grandchildren, and nine step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his step-daughter, Katie Moore. Mr. Montgomery spent many happy hours with his cherished bird dogs, Willie, Clyde, Junior and Shooter in the Francis Marion National Forest where he worked tirelessly to preserve quail habitat. He was also a proud member of both the Sons of Confederate Veterans and Sons of the American Revolution. His Lord worked miracles in his life for which Mr. Montgomery was most grateful and so expressed. His graveside service will be held at 3p.m. today, June 8, 2014 in Christ Church Cemetery, 2304 Highway 17 North, Mt. Pleasant. Following the service, a reception will be held in Sams Hall of St. Andrews Church - Mt. Pleasant, 440 Whilden Street in the Old Village Arrangements made by J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel.
