Jean Marshall

Lila Jean Quinn Marshall, 84, of Chattanooga, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many, passed peacefully from her earthly life to enter eternal life with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 7, 2014. She was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga and a member of Edgewood Baptist Church for 57 years. She served diligently in the Faithful Workers Sunday School Class. Jean was the daughter of the late Allen and Alice Quinn and was preceded in death by her sisters, Ruby Miller and Marjorie Johnson; and brothers, Charles, Garrett, Fay, Clarence and S.T. Quinn. She is survived by her husband, Cecil Howard Marshall; daughter, Donna (Jeff) Alper; grandson, Justin Alper; brother, Ernest (Dorothy) Quinn; several nieces and nephews. Jean will be remembered for her sweet disposition, her love for God, her kindness to everyone she met and her devotion to her family. Our love and thanks to two very special friends, Carol Short and Crystal Tran for all their loving care to Jean. The family would also like to thank, James Igani, Jennifer Shaw, Rodney Love, Teresa Johnson and Hospice of Chattanooga for the support and outstanding love they have shown to Jean and our family. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. today, June 10, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Brian Kurtz officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
