William "Bill" Harrison Thompson, 51, of Chattanooga, adored husband, father, brother and friend, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2014. He was preceded in death by his mother, Glenda Thompson; and mentor/godparents, Dr. Yeu Quang and Michon Wong. Bill spent the majority of his career as an ICU Nurse at Erlanger Medical Center. He was a student of life and embraced each day with the opportunity to love and learn. In the past several years, through his passion for the power of natural healing, he became a licensed Massage Therapist and Meditation Guide. He was a 7th generation Kung Fu practitioner of teacher and mentor Dr. Yeu Quang Wong. Bill was a veteran of the United States Army. Bill will be profoundly missed by so many that loved him: His loving wife of 19 years, Leanne; father, Johnny Thompson; children, Summer (Suzanne) West, Patrick (Brandy) Skinner, and Zack (Sarah) Thompson; siblings, Kelly (Alvin) Sims, Michael (Jean) Thompson, Michelle (Joe) Lewis, and Amanda Thompson; grandchildren, Haley and Ryan West; several nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at the Chester Frost Park Pavilion from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, June 15. There will be no services or visitation at the funeral home.
