Florence Anderson

Florence "Floss" Anderson of Lookout Mountain, Ga., was taken to her eternal home on Wednesday, June 11, 2014. She was welcomed in heaven by her Savior, Jesus Christ, and friends and loved ones, including her parents, Dr. William H. and Bertha Chisholm; and her beloved sister, Grace Morton. Floss was born March 5, 1928, in Korea, where her parents were missionaries. In 1940 the family was forced to leave Korea, and after returning to America, Floss graduated from Germantown high school in Philadelphia in 1945. She then attended Wheaton College and graduated with a major in education in 1949. That fall, Floss married fellow student Chuck Anderson, and together they went to Faith Seminary in Wilmington, Del. They then pastored two churches one in Philadelphia and one in Boothwyn, Pa. In 1964 they moved to Lookout Mountain, Ga., where they served Covenant College for the next 30 years. It was during this time that Floss became a successful realtor. Then, after retiring in 1994, they spent a year in Malawi, Africa, serving in the African Bible School. Floss leaves behind her husband of almost 65 years, Charles Anderson, of Lookout Mountain; sister, Mary Chisholm, of Lookout Mountain; daughter, Nancy Anderson, of Chattanooga, son, Bill Anderson, of Frostburg, Md.; granddaughters, Leah Anderson Golden, Sasha Anderson and Sintija Anderson; grandsons, Chris Anderson, Alex Anderson and Habtamu Anderson; and great-grandchildren, Hadley and Anderson Golden. The funeral will be held at Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church with Pastor Joe Novenson officiating at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 16, with a reception at 10 a.m. Additionally, the family will receive guests at Wann Funeral Home from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, June 15. Interment will be private in Forest Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in memory of Floss to Covenant College, New City Fellowship, Northshore Fellowship or Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church.
