Billye Ragsdale

Billye Kennedy Ragsdale, 91, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2014, after a short illness. She was born Sept. 2, 1922 in Perryville, Tenn. She was a committed Christian and supported both ministries of Red Bank Baptist Church as well as First Presbyterian Church of Chattanooga. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Ragsdale, of Tampa Fla.; two children, John Almeida and Carolyn Vetter; and brother, Jack Kennedy. Survivors include her sister, Shirley Kennedy (Warren) Hardy. Billye "Nana" is also survived by her grandson, Scott Vetter; and granddaughter, Samantha Vetter King and Samanthas children Trisha, Tyler and Shannon. The funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. today, June 15, 2014, at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace with Rev. Chris Ehlers officiating. She will be laid to rest at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
