L.M. Wilson

Wilson, of Chattanooga, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2014, at the age of 87. L.M. grew up in the Chattanooga area loving to hunt and fish. It was not uncommon when he was a boy to shoot a rabbit that his mother would then cook and put on a biscuit for his school lunch. L.M. served as a photographer in the U.S. Navy then met and married Jeffie Belle Logan when he was 23. The joy of their lives, their daughter Milissa, arrived in 1953. He retired from the Electric Power Board, having made many friendships that have lasted through the years. He and Jeffie were married for 52 years until her passing in 2002. He has enjoyed his retirement spending time with friends, telling them tall tales that always ended with a good laugh. His greatest joy was going to his lake house with his family and teaching his great-grandsons to fish, just like he did when he was a boy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeffie Wilson; parents, L.B. Wilson and Deamie Carpenter Wilson; and his brother, Ed Wilson. He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Milissa Wilson Westbrook; grand-daughters, Megan Lyness (husband, Dustin) and Lindsay Woody (husband, Joseph); great-grandsons, Blake Westbrook Lyness and Thomas Bryson Lyness; siblings, Harold Wilson, Gerald Wilson, Wesley Wilson, Francis Gill and Gwen Payne. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at Heritage Chapel with Rev. Margaret Ferguson, officiating. The interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. for family and friends. Visit www.heritagefh.com to share words of comfort to the family.
