Virginia Hicks

Virginia Louise Hicks, 76, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, June 16, 2014. She was born in Scottsboro, Ala., to the late William "Bill" and Flora Edmonds but has lived in the Chattanooga and North Georgia areas for most of her life. She was previously employed with Hartford Carpet Co. for many years and was of the Christian faith. She loved working word search puzzles, but her passion and drive in life was living and loving on her children and grandchildren. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by all that knew her. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gene Hicks; sons, Keith and Chris Kirby; daughter, Teresa Harris; granddaughter, Shelly Sims; and two brothers. Survivors include her sister and brother-in-law, Lola (Harold) Waldron, of Flintstone; three grandchildren, Jerry Brown, Miranda Pedigo and Tammy Langston; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a very special friend, Margaret Hale. Memorial services will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2014, in the East Ridge Church of the Nazarene, 5821 Ringgold Road, Chattanooga, TN 37412, with Rev. Charles Knight officiating.
